Fábrica de Arte Cubano

Declared by Time Magazine as ‘One of the World’s 100 Greatest Places’ in 2019, Fábrica de Arte Cubano (Cuban Art Factory), or simply ‘Fábrica’ as locals refer to it, blends the cutting edge of Cuban contemporary art, design, theatre, fashion, and music.

This new incarnation of the historic building (it formerly housed a power plant, an oil bottling factory, a pharmaceutical warehouse, and more) designed by architect Ernesto Jimenez García, is the brainchild of famed Cuban artist X Alfonso. The expansive space is organized into 5 distinct areas or ‘Naves’ that allow for periodical reconfiguration. The mutating spaces adapt to different artistic offerings, with new exhibitions every few months, so mind the closing timeframes if you are planning to visit Havana.
